Kelly (first time mum!)

I have been meaning to mail you to let you know that the hypnobirthing was wonderful and really helped my labour, so a huge thank you for your help and for the wonderful methods you taught me in just a few hours! To cut a short story even shorter, my established labour lasted about 6 hours and I managed the pain with just the breathing techniques you taught me, no drugs, not even gas and air! During the final stage I really concentrated on my J shape breathing and after just 40mins my little man entered the world!
He is a lovely calm baby and I credit that to the natural, controlled labour I had thanks to hypnobirthing! I will definitely be recommending this to other mums to be and using it for future pregnancies!
Thanks again for all the advide

P.S - I still use the meditation music for Xavier at night as he obviously remembers it from the days in the womb and it settles him immediately!

I'm so pleased to tell you that hypnobirthing worked really well for us and our son was born after a calm and drug free labour. The birth
was everything we hoped for and was a really positive experience. The midwife who attended us said she had never seen anything like it!

The hypnobirthing gave me so much confidence for my labour that I decided to have a home birth. Everything went very well with active labour lasting less than an hour (not bad for my first baby!) and Kate came out rather quickly taking everyone by surprise. It was an incredible experience and the hypnobirthing preparations was a huge part of that.I have a very chilled out baby according to the midwives!

Just a note to let you know that Daniel arrived safe and sound and somewhat swiftly on Sunday. Contractions started at 10.30pm and at half past midnight the midwife told us I was in established labour, with, in her estimate, about another 6 hours to go. Just an hour later though I was told I was ready to start pushing.Just 4 contractions later and Daniel was born entirely naturally and calmly. I'm sure the hypnobirthing really helped. I certainly went into the whole experience feeling positive, calm and able to cope and taking just 4 hours to go from no contractions to ready to push must be credited in part to the flower opening visualisation on my CD. So thank you and look out for the friends I will be sending your way!

I really cannot speak highly enough about our HypnoBirthing tutor Sophie Englefield. A lot of my friends who learn that I am considering HypnoBirthing as an option have rolled their eyes but I am really taken with the idea. The HypnoBirthing course is much more than a journey into hypnosis; it is an educational programme which teaches you about the nature of birth. We learned about the biology associated with the process of labour and how the body is involved. The awareness of what is going on is one of the key principles which support HypnoBirthing which is basically just a relaxed and informed birth approach. We went for the course in our own home completed over two days; we were able to talk about our own concerns and the course was tailored to our needs.

I am proud to say we used the techniques and I am happy to say that HypnoBirthing worked a treat Omri was born APGAR score of 9 . A perfectly healthy, alert and happy baby

After quite a traumatic birth with our first son, we came to Sophie to see if she could help my wife Anna with the birth of our daughter. I cannot thank her enough for the techniques she taught us. Anna was so calm and relaxed at the birth and Mia was born with no medical intervention. A very different childbirth from our first! Thank you Sophie

Before I saw Sophie I was extremely nervous and anxious about giving birth. You hear so many horror stories that it had put my thoughts in a negative mindset. Seeing Sophie reassured me that my birthing experience doesn't have to be like that. I honestly found this course one of the most relaxing and enjoyable experiences I've ever had - my partner and I didn't want it to end! I now feel, much more confident, much more relaxed and dare I say it - even looking forward to the birth!

Thank you for all you did for us! Maisy was born into the world without any need for pain relief at all!

The hypnobirthing was brilliant. I think the main thing it did was help me to relax throughout the labour and the visualisation of what the all the muscles were doing during the contractions and the breathing really made a massive difference.

I started contractions at 5am and after timing them I realised they were only 1 every 10 mins so I went back to sleep. At 8am I woke up again and had a shower and they had become a little more frequent so I made myself comfy on the sofa and listened to the CD's you had made and visualised each contraction as riding the crest of a wave. At 11am I realised the contractions seemed to have become one continuous contraction and so we began timing them and after about 30mins of writing down the time they started & how intense they were we realised they were 3 in 10mins so we phoned the birthing centre who told us to monitor them for another hour and then call them again but to stay put unless my waters broke. My waters broke at 12 so we called them again and began getting ready to head to the birthing centre armed with my CD's, food, water etc. This trip became quite frantic as by 12:30 it felt like I wanted to push and it was becoming obvious that we had to get to the birthing centre fast! Rob flew over the speed bumps which wasn't so enjoyable for me and on arrival they gave me an examination after I told them I really needed to push.

They didn't really believe me until they looked and I was 10cm already so the waterbath was run and I was in it by 1:30pm and Tilly was born at 3pm! I forgot all about the gas and air and my midwife was amazing, she was very pleased I was using hypnobirthing and was telling me to not push but hold everything in until I couldn't any longer and then just breathe it out. This worked amazingly well and I only asked for gas and air right at the end when I remembered and the best thing about it was the mouth piece made it really easy for the breathing techniques you taught me.

The birth was brilliant and both rob and myself agreed that the hypnobirthing made a massive difference to the calmness of the whole thing
